12-18-25   THOUGHTS

The beginnings of the prophet Samuel lead to one of the most powerful men in Bible history.  It’s a story of the oppression of the needy and weak, of a good woman seeking help in all the right ways, of an unbelievable vow, fulfilled as God delivered.  Jas 1:9  “But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;”   Our lesson is found in 1Sam 2:9   "He keeps the feet of His godly ones, But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; For not by might shall a man prevail.”   Php 3:3   “for we are the [true] circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh,”

1Sam 2:1-5    Then Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.  2  "There is no one holy like the LORD, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.  3  "Boast no more so very proudly, Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And with Him actions are weighed.  4  "The bows of the mighty are shattered, But the feeble gird on strength. 5  "Those who were full hire themselves out for bread, But those who were hungry cease to hunger. Even the barren gives birth to seven, But she who has many children languishes....
1Sam 2:9  "He keeps the feet of His godly ones, But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness;
For not by might shall a man prevail.”

Our Prayer:
O Lord, may we ever rest in Your strength, and might and love.  We flee to You, our Rock in times of trouble.  Uphold us with Your right hand.  Your promise of eternal hope sustains us always.  We have always been without strength, You, O Lord, have always provided. Thank You for Jesus, O God of all promise.  We lift You up and praise You in His name,   Amen.
